The 2015 Annual Meeting of the Astronomische Gesellschaft is being
organized by the astrophysics group of the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu
Kiel (CAU) and will be held on CAU’s main campus from 14 to 18 September
2015.
The Assembly is part of CAU’s celebrations of the 350th anniversary of its
foundation in 1665.
All scientific sessions, the opening and award cermenonies, the public lecture,
the Monday meetings (AstroFrauenNetzwerk, History of Astronomy, PhD
students, RDS), will be held in the central lecture hall building (Audimax).
Registration will be open from early June 2015 with reduced early bird rates
until 15 August 2015. Registration at the standard rates will be possible until
the end of the meeting.

clicking on the small version to the left.
These webpages will be updated and augmented continuously as new information becomes available and/or
relevant.

Travel and Getting around
How to get to Kiel
Kiel is located at the Baltic Sea about 80 km north of Hamburg. You can travel to Kiel:
• by train: There is a frequent train service from many destinations to Kiel central station operated
by Deutsche Bahn.
• by plane: The nearest international airport is Hamburg (mind you: Kiel has a small airport, but no
scheduled flights). There is a scheduled bus service (called Kielius) from Hamburg airport to Kiel
Central Railway Station (Hauptbahnhof), as well a minibus service (KielExx). The minibusses take
you to any destination within the city. For details, please see the Kielius web pages and/or the
KielExx web pages.
How to get to the AG15 venue
All lectures, splinter meetings, tutorials, poster sessions, and the public talk on Thursday take place
in the Audimax building of the Christiana Albertina University (CAU). The address is Christian-Albrechts-
Platz. You find maps etc. on the web pages of the University. The CAU campus can be reached easily
by bus. Bus lines 60S (express service), 61, 62, 81, 91 or 92 have stops close to the Audimax. It will take
you about 20 minutes to get to the campus from the city center and the railway station area. Time
tables can be found on the web pages of KVG, the company which operates the bus system.
How to get to the Ratssaal on Monday night
The Ratssaal is located in the Old City Hall (Altes Rathaus) right in the city center. It is the building
with the highest tower. If you come from the campus, use the bus stops close to the conference
venue and exit them (depending on the line) at Holstenbrücke, Lorentzendamm, or Rathaus/Opera House.
The best choice is bus 50 (direction Kolennenweg) at 18:03 which gets you to Rathaus/Opernahus ten
minutes later. Please get into the City Hall through the rear entrance Waisenhofstrasse (just walk
around the building). Most of the hotels are within walking distance of the City Hall.
How to get to the Maritim Hotel on Wednesday night
